Web Design plays an important role when it comes to marketing a product or services. If you’re thinking about creating a new website or redesigning the old one, here are some pointers that would help you immensely.

8 Questions to Ask when Creating a New Website or Redesigning an Old One:

  1. What Product or Service Do You Offer?
  2. Are the Landing Pages Optimized?
  3. What Problems Do You Solve for Your Customers?
  4. What Makes Your Services Unique?
  5. Why should Customers Choose You?
  6. Who are Your Clients?
  7. Can Your Potential Customers Trust You?
  8. Does Your Website Make it Easy for Visitors to Take Action?

1. What Product or Service Do You Offer?

It should be clear to a visitor what product or service your website offers within 5 seconds once they land on your web page. Visitors should be able to understand what you offer, what are main features of the product or service you’re offering, and what benefits they will get if they opt for your product or service. And this should be nicely structured, along with relevant images or videos if required. This creates a pleasant experience for visitors.

2. Are the Landing Pages Optimized?

Customers visit your website looking for information or for solutions to the problems they’re facing in their business strategy. They’ll want to know how choosing this product or service will help solve their pain points e.g. if their website is getting good traffic but they’re not able to generate leads, they should feel confident after going through the information on your website. Having a well optimized landing page will increase the probability of getting leads, and it also aids in user engagement.

3. What Solutions Do You Offer?

Once they are aware of your product or service, they will want to know how it will help them in solving their business problems. If it’s a product, then they will want to know if that would be useful or will provide value to them irrespective of its cost. You may want to provide a CTA as an easy option where they can directly reach you.

4. What Makes Your Services Unique?

In order for your brand to stand out, consumers need to feel an emotional connection to it. This is best accomplished by telling your company story in a compelling and meaningful way that people can relate to. Clearly mentioning the highlights of the services you provide will help your customers understand your perspective. Presenting the information about your services in a creative way will certainly aid in impressing your potential customers.

5. Why should Customers Choose You?

With thousands of websites being launched every day, the average consumers’ attention span has lessened. If you are not able to make it clear right from the title of the page that you are the best company when it comes to digital marketing services, or paid ad campaigns or conversion rate optimization or you may be providing different services altogether; your website needs to have the content that reflects that you understand your customers and provide them much more than what they’re asking for! Stand out from the crowd by explaining why they should choose you over other companies. Ideally, you need to have client testimonials, specific achievements and reviews highlighting your strategy.

6. Who are Your Clients?

You may not think much of “Social Proof”, but it certainly means something to your prospective customers. People aren’t naturally eager to part with their money for a relatively unknown product or service. If you are able to substantiate your product or service by showing your prospective customers who else has utilized and enjoyed it, they will feel validated to purchase it themselves. Having legit reviews or testimonials of your products or services from your customers on your website or on Google My Business listing, will not only help new visitors to understand but it will also help in building trust factor.

7. Can Your Potential Customers Trust You?

Due to the sheer number of scams and frauds that are in existence today, online shoppers have become, understandably, wary. You must ensure that you come across completely trustworthy and transparent; if you don’t, your visitors will leave without a second glance. First and foremost, your website should have HTTPS enabled, no matter what! It also should have a privacy policy, terms and conditions and a disclaimer page. You can have these as separate ones or you can have only one stating all the information about how you use the user’s data. Having a user consent pop-up also works!

8. Does Your Website Make it Easy for Visitors to Take Action?

Finally, ensure that your website has clear “Call to Action” buttons with appropriate text. Having clear CTAs are very important if you want your potential customers to take a certain action. Place these somewhere where they are immediately noticeable. With the multitude of websites available to visit, if users can’t figure out how they can avail certain services or contact you immediately, in the case of any concerns or questions, they won’t feel compelled to carry on any further. Having a clear call to action will only make it easier for your consumers to reach you.
